Market Manager 

The farmers’ market manager plays an integral role in the operation of the farmers’ market we attend in Carp, Lansdowne, Westboro and Orleans. The position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the market and working with market vendors, preparation of produce and supplies for markets and keeping market booths clean, tidy and welcoming for customers. This role requires offering excellent customer service and exchanging money as required. Early mornings and long days are a part of this role. G2 drivers license is required.

Garden Helper

Responsibilities range from planting vegetable crops, caring for and maintaining crops, to harvesting the final product when ready. Garden Helpers will be involved in preparing and packaging these crops for shipment to end use or farmers market sales. Employees will use safe food handling practices and take part in sales at markets, food stands and our retail store. They will also work with children and youth who visit the farm, either through field trips or with family. Need to be early risers as we like to start early and finish early before the hottest part of the day. Must be willing to work weekends. Our season begins mid-May and runs throughout the summer, into fall.

Sales Associate

This position involves operating our onsite store and our produce stands in Arnprior, Almonte and Carleton Place. The same people will alternate and work at farmers markets throughout the Ottawa area. Tasks include preparation of produce for store and stands while keeping store, stands and market booths clean, tidy and welcoming for customers. This role requires offering excellent customer service and exchanging money as required. Early mornings and long days are a part of this role. Smart Serve certificate would be an asset. Up to date First Aid and CPR would be considered an asset as well.

Supervisor-Garden Helper

Supervisors will complete the duties outlined in the Garden Helper position. They will also work with garden helpers to ensure they are properly trained, and productivity is met, so previous experience is required. This involves working closely with upper management to discuss and reach goals at Needham's Market Garden. Need to be early risers as we like to start early and finish early before the hottest part of the day. Must be willing to work weekends. Our season begins mid-May and runs throughout the summer, into fall.
